Artists Statement:

Progress + Light is a celebration of the human spirit overcoming adversity. These poetic portraits of "at risk" children planting trees in an urban greening project are combined with dynamic floral images.

The flowers blossom as richly and beautifully as children.
The metaphor here is unmistakable. These inspirational kids are overcoming major adversities in their own lives to help humanity overcome the challenges it has wrought upon our planet.
