Organic Cotton: Criteria
Farmer’s fields must be pesticide-free for a minimum of 3 years to be certified organic and the cotton must be processed, transported, and stored according to strict internationally recognized independent standards.

Hemp # 1
Hemp has a low lignin content which reduces the need for acids used in pulping, and it's creamy color lends itself to environmentally friendly bleaching instead of harsh chlorine compounds. Less bleaching results in less dioxin and fewer chemical byproducts.

Hemp # 2
Hemp grows well without herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides. Almost 1/2 of the agricultural chemicals used on US crops are applied to cotton.
